Brighter Side Society
Simplify your life!
Would you like a convenient, no hassle way to support the programs at the Senior Center?
We invite you to join the Brighter Side Society, where you choose an amount to donate through automatic payment each month. You can choose to support older adults with any amount.
How Being a Monthly Donor Helps Seniors:
Monthly donations make sure that those most in need of help will have somewhere to turn. One in two seniors who live alone lack enough income to meet their basic needs.
Your monthly donation will ensure seniors get quality meals to stay healthy. Since 2019, there has been a 60% increase in the number of meals served. That means in 2024 we served 39,000 MORE meals than in 2019! With the rising cost of food, utilities and everything else, seniors often go hungry or eat meals that are not balanced.
By giving monthly, you can ensure the fun games, classes and events that seniors enjoy so much continue to be possible. Social isolation, which is a lack of relationships with others and having little or no social support, increases your risk of developing dementia (by 50%), heart disease (by 29%) and having a stroke (by 30%).

What your gifts mean to our clients:
In January 2020, our Resources staff visited with an out-of-state son. His mom was being discharged from the hospital and he was asking about services to help her stay at home. Resources staff got to work and made sure she went home with some nutritious frozen meals to help her gain strength back. They also got her started with Meals on Wheels for daily meal delivery and a few other services that made it possible for her to remain independent. We received word in October 2021 that this client would be moving to assisted living. The client and her family were so grateful for the help!
The client preferred to live in her home as long as possible. With your help she was able to do so for nearly two additional years! Your support makes it possible for us to continue providing these important services in our community. THANK YOU for caring about older adults!
