Please call 701-757-4878 to make a foot care appointment at the Grand Forks Senior Center or to inquire about a rural foot care clinic. Home visit care is available for homebound seniors. We look forward to seeing you and serving your foot care needs.

The services of the Health Department at the Grand Forks Senior Center are provided by licensed nurses and are open to any person 60 years of age or older. They are intended to be an aid for long-term well-being; they are NOT intended to replace regular visits with a physician.

Foot Care

Caring for one’s feet is an important part of a person’s overall health. Foot care at the Grand Forks Senior Center (GFSC) includes a foot assessment, nail trimming, callus or corn care, foot care education, and referral if needed. The GFSC employs licensed nurses, and the majority of their time is spent attending to our customers’ foot care needs. As agility and vision issues become more prevalent in older age, caring for one’s feet becomes more difficult.

Individual appointments can be made by calling 701-757-4878. A person can also sign up at one of the foot care clinics in the region. Clinics are advertised in the Silver Express newsletter each month. For homebound older adults, our nurses can provide foot care in the home.

All Grand Forks Senior Center Health Department services are provided on a suggested contribution basis. Seniors are encouraged to pay what they can afford. Federal, state and local funding help make up the difference.

Foot Care - Office Visit: The suggested contribution for 60+ is $30
Foot Care - Home & Rural Visits: The suggested contribution for 60+ is $35

Medication Setup

Grand Forks Senior Center licensed nurses can portion out customers’ medication into their own daily/weekly pill planners if they deem the customer to be competent and compliant for taking medications after the nurses have completed an assessment. Appointments are available at the Senior Center or our nurse can come to a customer’s home if necessary. Call 701-757-4878 to make an appointment.

Blood Pressure Screenings with Rapid Inspections

Customers may set up an appointment by calling 701-757-4878 or just come in and have their blood pressure checked. At that time the Grand Forks Senior Center nurse will also do a rapid inspection which may alert them to any obvious health issues. If health issues are detected, the nurse will recommend that the customer sees his/her health professional.
